Argyle Artspace offers quality local Art within the historic Argyle Hotel in Maclean. Fine art is complimented by modern cuisine in an old-time setting near the magnificent Clarence River.
This community Artspace was initiated by the Management of the Historic Argyle Hotel following the extremely successful Charity Art Auction in February 2008, to fundraise for the Maclean Lower Clarence Hospital Auxiliary (the next Auction is planned for early 2010).
Having provided the dining room for the Charity venue, Management wished to continue exhibiting local artworks with the purpose of providing ongoing funding for the Hospital Auxiliary.
Should you purchase art from Argyle Artspace, you can be assured the Maclean Lower Clarence Hospital Auxiliary will benefit by receiving the 20% commission, as well as encouraging local artists.
The Artspace is open Monday to Saturday.
On display are diverse styles of art produced by local artists, the exhibitions are each for a period of three months, thus ensuring an exciting and diverse range of art.
This is a community based Artspace with a management committee: Jenni Peardon art co-ordinator, Susie Biber, Pat Jenkins, and Anne Worboys, in conjunction with Argyle Hotel management and staff.
